How to remove non linear feature from linear feature in matlab

Hi all,

Can anyone help on how can I remove non linear feature (e.g. irregular shapes that is corrected to linear feature) from linear feature as the picture shown below. Thanks in advanced.

Looks like you did quadtree decomposition - not sure how that would help. What I would do is to call imopen() to get rid of hte line structure but leave the large blobs. Then use the large blobs as a mask to erase those parts of the original image.

bigBlobs = imopen(binaryImage, se);
binaryImage(bigBlobs) = false;
