In MFCC we only take first 12-13 coefficients and others higher coeefifents are discarded, how to calculate that 12-13 coefficients?

i search a lot of papers but i didnt find exact answer for how to find coefficients and which are they and how to get that exact 13 feature value in matlab??
please anyone know about this, guide me
