Can I create a simulink bus object from a struct that has cell arrays as elements?

I frequently use 'Simulink.Bus.createObject' to create bus objects in .m scripts from structs. I am considering using a 3rd party tool that has a struct with cell arrays. I'd like to create a bus object for this struct but 'Simulink.Bus.createObject' isn't happy.
I could always proceed by manually creating the bus object but this is very undesireable...
Is there no automated solution for more complex structs?
