how to change color intensity with time in a given area of the image ?

i have made an ellipse and inside that ellipse i have defined two region.i i want to change the intensity of the color inside the region as a factor of time .

Define "intensity". Do you mean brightness, L value, or V value? If so, just add a value to the image. Do you mean saturation or chroma, like how vivid or pure the color is? If so, convert to HSV colorspace with rgb2hsv() and increase the S channel.

Should it be the same color for each pixel, so the ellipse as a whole is changing?
If so then one of the easiest ways would be to change your colormap.

Kitty, do you have a full color RGB image, or a grayscale image that you want to pseudocolor? How many images in this sequence do you want? How many time points? What is the wavelength or period of the sine wave and how many images per second or wavelength do you want?
