Try
plot([x1 x2 x2 x1 x1], [y1 y1 y2 y2 y1], 'r-', 'LineWidth', 3);
where x1 is the left edge, x2 is the right edge, y1 is the bottom and y2 is the top. Or you could do it with 4 calls to line().
