hello,
i have a 6.4G mat variable in 7.3 format, and i believe i am expanding it to double its size. so the theoretical size should be 12.8G. but matlab 2017a returns that the variable is too big to store. (its from a batch job) . is there a way around this?
it is running on CentOS, and i think this is a fundamental problem with save.
thanks,

Looking at the documentation it seems that "The maximum size of a MAT-file is imposed only by your native file system."
I think the only way around it might be to rethink your data structure, so you don't need a file that large. It sounds like a file that big would be really difficult to load to memory as well.

The original might be 7.3 but are you making sure you give the 7.3 flag when you do the save?

Please post the complete error message and the code. How do you "expand" the file? Which command causes the error message?
