Text disappering when selected in Simulink

Just installed Matlab/simulink on a new windows 7 laptop and any time I select a name for a signal or lock part of the name disappears. Has anyone seen this issue while using Matlab R13.

MATLAB R13 is not supported in Windows 7, and I do not recall hearing that anyone has managed to get it to work natively. Some people run it in a virtual machine running a much earlier version of Windows.
