Download financial data for Yahoo and/or Google

So...several months ago, after last change in Yahoo API and the fact Mathworks gave me the impression not to fix the problem, I finally moved to R. However, today I was trying to convert some codes to Matlab when I realized that even the script I downloaded for Google stocks...didn't work too. So now my question is: If I need to download financial data by using a Matlab code (something that would substitute "fetch" command) what I'd be supposed to do? I know there are several apps out there (one of them is WFAToolbox) but I'm always suspicious when it comes to download from third parties. Hope for an help, thanks to everyone.
