Viewing three dimensional matrix

Suppose I have a 3D matrix A(i,j,k). Suppose I want to view a 2 matrix A(1,:,:). Please advise.

Something like this maybe?
imshow(squeeze(A(1,:,:)))
imshow might even be smart enough not to need squeeze.
