please help me in getting correct image for optic disk detection from fundus image?

i am posting my gray image ,from this image i have to detect optic disc.I have applied morphological opening and closing operation for optic disc.But i am getting white border at boundary.Can anyone please help me to get correct image and tell why it is happening.

>> i want to remove whiter area across border and want black background.
