How to control text and size of figure together

Hi everyone, for some purpose I need to plot a scatter plot with 6×6 cm size. I also need to insert some text inside this figure with font size 7. I have tried the following code

set(gca,'position',[0.05 0.20 0.85 0.66]);

Then I used the following code to save it,

set(gcf,'PaperUnits','centimeters')
set(gcf,'PaperPosition',[0 0 7  6])
print(gcf,'-dtiff','-r300',['./Figure'])

but after saving, the figure is not looking proper that is text, legend etc are mixed, as the size is so small and also there is another restriction of font size 7, so I feel problem, any guidance will be appreciated thanks.
