testing raw data set

Hi. I have a accelerometer sensor of 3000 samples. I have trained the data set. Next I want to process the another data set with 2000 samples for testing(i.e making prediction with training data set). How can I get through this training and testing of data set for activity prediction. I have seen many videos it looks quite simple but when I follow through it it's getting complex. Please help me through it. Particularly how the testing is made.
