Time delay for variable

Hi,

I would like to force in Simulink the minimum duration for a variable to change its value.

For example, I would like a gear index in my powertrain model to change with a step of at least 1 second (my simulation step time is 250ms). If there is a change which is under 1 second, the value shoud not be allowed. For the moment I can't control it and my variable can change every 250 ms.

I don't know if I am clear enough but I am looking for your answers.

use the "Zero-order hold" block, specify 1 second as the sample time
