Undefined variable 'imread'

Hi everyone when i need to start working on image processing , the first problem that facing me in 'imread' instruction as follows :

 imread{'ghassan.jpg'}
Undefined variable "imread" or class "imread".

I install image processing tolls but still having this problem. I would be appreciated if one can help me.

You are using curly brackets when you should be using parentheses. Instead, try imageData = imread('ghassan.jpg')
