about 'phased.FreeSpace' function.

The 'phased.FreeSpace' function provides a free space environment. But the free space path loss is considered in this function. Is there a function which could provide lossless propatation?

or how to compensate the path loss induced by 'phased.FreeSpace' ?

You can use the fspl function to compute the loss and compensate accordingly, but do you mind sharing your use case? I'm curious why you want to model a lossless propagation. Thanks.

I am simulating a FMCW radar. The SNR of target need to be ajusted. So, I want to model a lossless propagation and add noise manually. Could you let me know if you have a better way to simulate certain SNR of target?

Is it relative SNR or absolute SNR. If you just want to see how system performs for different SNR and don't care about the exact value of SNR, say, how does the system perform if my SNR is 10 dB worse? Then you can vary the target RCS. If you want absolute SNR, it may still be easier to fix the target at a certain range, this way you know the propagation loss and you can compensate for that.

OK. I will try it. Thank you so much.

Hi if I wanna calculate the power loss considering different target RCS, could you please show the expression for free-space propagation?
