adding a delay between commands to a program

hello i am sending commands to a chip and I need a 1 second delay between each command. I am new to matlab and not sure how this would be done.

See pause function.
But scheduling your tasks with timer is best option.

In addition to pause, the commands clock and etime could be useful, while cputime does something else.
