Compute Number of Overlapped Pixels

I have two edge images from my reference and moving image. I have estimated the transformation. The transformation is used to transform the moving image onto the reference image. The corresponding edge images are overlapped and now I want to compute the number of overlapped pixels. What is the best way to do this?
