i have a letter in which I want to find the height and width of this letter

any algorithm or code can suggest by anyone

binaryImage = grayImage < 128;
props = regionprops(binaryImage, 'BoundingBox');
width = props.BoundingBox(3);
height = props.BoundingBox(4);

@Image Analyst its working for single letter but for words or for multiple letter its not working

error is "Field reference for multiple structure elements that is followed by more reference

blocks is an error."
