I think I found another thread that answers my question. Apparently the problem is created by an istallation issue, where there are two copies of readData listed when I type "which readData -all" and apparently mine is set to the wrong one. I am updating to 2019a to see if that fixes the issue.
readtable requires column formats?

I cannot seem to use readtable('filename.csv') without having to specify column formats. Others using the exact same code don't seem to have this problem. Is there someplace where I have explicitly set some option that requires formats? Any ideas?
I have this problem anytime I use readtable (and on multiple machines I control). We've tested the same scripts/functions on other machines and they don't need the explicit formats specified.
Thanks.
