I am using Matlab 2015a and it says "Undefined function or variable 'imsplit'." when I run my code. Is this function not deifned in matlab 2015a ? If not, what is the best alternative for "imsplit" in 2015a ?
Also, I have been coming across so many functions that I found undifined in 2015 that are actually released in other versions. Is there a place I could find all of them at one place ?

Requires R2018b
You should be using the "doc" function in your MATLAB release to find the functions available in your release.

Indexing is an excellent substitute for imsplit
R = YourImage(:, :, 1);

I do not know of any mapping such as you describe.
There have been many many new functions in the toolboxes. The number of functions available through matlab is over 50000 if I recall correctly. There are 77 or more new functions for image processing between R2015a and r2019a, not counting any new classes.

Maybe Imsplit, Split image or matrix into subparts using simple syntax by Jurgen. (Created with R2008a) of the File Exchange
"Is there a place I could find all of them at one place" AFAIK: The release notes is the best place there is.
