Fitness function for GA flowshop optimization problem

Hi all,

I am currently studying flowshop optimization problem and I want to minimize the makespan in my problem.

I would like first to know what is required as variables, constraints, etc... And then how to define a good fitness function corresponding to my problem so as to use then a Genetic Algorithm from Matlab?
