Processing Multiple Linear Trends in a Data Set

Hello,

I am analyzing a signal with Wavelet Transform Maximum Modulus, and have the following output:

Visually, I can "connect the dots", but I am not sure about getting decent values for a line (mean, scatter) from this. The data are scatter plotted from an array where peakfinder() picked the peaks from a cwt figure like this (not the same signal):

I would imagine there is something better than trying to image-process this. Any thoughts are welcome!
