Parallel Computing while Using fmincon and simulink

Hi,

I am optimizing a simulation with fmincon and my code uses a simulink model to compute the objective function and the constraints values. I was wondering if I could use parallel computing of fmincon to speed up the optimizaiton process. And if I can, how reliable my answers would be.

My options for fmincon are as follows:

opts = optimset( 'LargeScale', 'on',...

'Algorithm', 'interior-point',...

'UseParallel', true)
