Unrecognized function or variable at startup screen

Dear Developers,
After installing Matlab2019b and all of its packages at a WIndows 10 laptop, I obtain the following error messages at the startup screen of Matlab:
I activated Matlab using my University's licence.
Warning: Name is nonexistent or not a directory: C:\Program

Unrecognized function or variable 'connector.ensureServiceOn'.
Unrecognized function or variable 'connector.ensureServiceOn'.

Unrecognized function or variable 'connector.ensureServiceOn'.
Unable to resolve the name connector.resetLocalePreference.
Unrecognized function or variable 'connector.ensureServiceOn'.
Unrecognized function or variable 'connector.internal.lifecycle.callConnectorStarted'.
I would be grateful for any help or suggestion.

I get the exact same problem on my Windows 10 Laptop. I installed and uninstalled Matlab 2019b.
Installing 2020a (from previously 2019a) I've had similar problems with error messages concerning this:
Unrecognized function or variable 'matlab.internal.addons.updates.getSupportPackageUpdates'.
I found the answer from a matlab person.....but can't find it again..
Here's what I did... it fixed it..
restoredefaultpath
rehash toolboxcache
savepath
That worked for me! Thank you!
thankyou

The errors went away if I opened matlab.exe instead of the shortcut for matlab on the desktop.

I had the same experience for 2020a and the same solution. I do not know why my windows 10 laptop does this.
