Finding a set of minimum, maximum and middle points with x and y axis

I have a data I need to find some of the min,max and middle points of the data that contain both x and y axis. If anybody knows please help me.

I used min and max functions like:

A=mink(data,4);

B=maxk(data,4);

But is it contain both x and y values? How to get both axis and points in a single variable.

mink and maxk returns k smallest/highest values. A=mink(data,4); returns 4 min elements in the set of data.

I didn't really understand what you meant by "both axis and points in a single variable". If you share the data and what you are expecting out of it, it will be easy to find.

I taken 60:40(Train:test) from this data. I need to find 4 min,max and middle elememnts like:

Max=[4 8; 1 10; 3 29; 2 10]

It contain both x and y axis in a single variable Max. The data set is attached here.

By my understanding you want to find the location/coordinate of the max/min/mean values data

 [max_num,max_idx] = maxk(data(:),4);
 [X Y]=ind2sub(size(data),max_num);

In the second line of code you are converting the index to the coordinate x,y.

From this I can find 4 maximum and minimum points. But how can I find 4 middle points of the data?

To best of my knowledge there is no direct way to find the 4 middle points. One possible work around is to find the mean and find the K nearest neighbours around that point
