calculation of "Symbol period" parameter in AWGN block

I must now calculate the parameter “Symbol period” in the AWGN block. My model consists of a Random Integer Generator block with sample time = 1e-6, an Integer to Bit Converter block with 8 bits and a QPSK modulator with 2 bits/symbol, so I do the following calculation:

Symbol period = (1e-6)*2/8.

Is it correct?
