How can I process the chest-ray images so that the disease appears clearly and fits all sizes of the original images?

I try to treat the X-ray for Covid 19 patients in order to confirm the infection or not.

The problem is, in the first stages of treatment, I change the size of the image to standardize the size of all x-rays and cut out unwanted parts..where the standardization of size does not fit all or most of the existing images..How can I process the chest-ray images so that the disease appears clearly and fits all sizes of the original images ?
