Suggestion for matlab programming

want to get back into matlab programming..havent programmed since 1 year .. any ideas what i can do..like a project or something..interested to make mostly GUI stuff that can be associated with civil engineering but not strictly related to it.

I suggest to start with solving questions in this forum and examine Matt Fig's GUI examples in the FileExchange.
