- Alter the x-data so that there's less distance between clusters of data and then change the XTickLabels to reflect the true x-values within each cluster of data.
- Create two horizontally contiguous axes that allows your to maintain the real x-values and doesn't require you to mess around with the XTickLabels.
- Under some circumstances, setting the XScale to log may be sufficient.

I don't think there is a MATLAB command for this but there are many file exchange submissions that should help you
