Why does it show that the Deep learning toolbox has been installed but it does not show in MATLAB app
I am also having this problem. I have upgraded R2020a (with the same problem); downloaded and installed R2020b with the deeplearning toolbox. Still does not work. Tried uninstalling the toolbox, then reinstalling it.
Still no change - very frustrating.
I am following the steps from the deep learning On-Ramp Tutorial
Further, I can use net = alexnet on the web based version, but not on the desktop version. This is also a project/assessment problem so it is urgent.

2) the problem shows when I tried to run the command net = alexnet
I get the message in "Screenshot 2020-11-04 120126.jpg" attached
What happened when you clicked on the "Add-On Explorer" link in the error message to install the Deep Learning Toolbox Model for AlexNet Network support package?

As you do not appear to be under software maintenance, then you will need to use the MATLAB Installer for your release to install the toolbox. This assumes that you already have a license for the toolbox.
If you do not already have a license for the toolbox for a previous release, you will need to talk to Mathworks Sales to purchase a license for your release.
I do not know what the current policies are. Historically, the policy at least used to be that if you did not have software maintenance that you could purchase licenses for software that was no more than 2 years old. As R2020a is now more than 2 years old, it is possible that Mathworks might not permit you to purchase a toolbox license for that release. In such a situation, the Mathworks policy would be that you need to catch up on the software mainteance payments (policy used to be that you could pay up to 4 past years), or purchase a new current MATLAB license together with the toolboxes you needed.
If you have a toolbox license for any release newer than the version you wish to use the toolbox with, then the newer licence entitles you to use any previous release of the toolbox. So if Mathworks were to tell you now that you need to purchase R2023a + the toolbox against R2023a, that would not mean that you had to use R2023a: you could continue to use R2020a (such as for compatibility reasons.)
