How can I get the names of checkboxes that were made with GUIDE

I have 261 checkboxes with names all numbered from 1:261. I would like to get the names of these checkboxes to see if they are even numbers and change the name of these even checkboxes to 'even'
How would I go about doing this?

Use the object browser?

Yes I know i can do it like this, but I would like to do it programatically as there are some boxes i would like to exclude, and I would like the checkbox names to be changed based on several different conditions.

Do you want to change the tag name or the string text (name used to access it vs the displayed text)?
