Hello,
I have just subscribed to ThingSpeak IoT and I have noticed that the annual usage is capped.
What does it mea, does it mean that the free licence last for one year and then a subscription has to be paid?
Please advise, thanks.

Today I received an email warning that my daily usage was high. As of today my annual message count was 2,334,457 whereas my free allowance per annum was 3 million. I found the problem was an Arduino still running that was calling ThingSpeak every 15 seconds. I've now changed to 300 seconds (5 minutes) as it was only monitoring an outside air sensor. Hope the advice helps others.
p.s.does anyone know how the 'annual message count' works.??? Specifically is this a running total over say the last 12 months OR between fixed dates ??? Cheers

@Ray B: As a free user, every year, on the anniversary date of your sign up, you get a new quota of 3 million free messages. Once you exhaust this quota of messages, your channels will stop updating until your next anniversary date.

How can one track the number of messages and from Apps. Suspect that I may have an App somewhere that is generating requests

@Daniele Caldognetto: That is correct.
@RayB: If you are sure it is not a device that is publishing messages to your channel, and you think it is something on ThingSpeak you may have set up, I'd recommend starting with the MATLAB Apps you've set up. See if any of them are doing a thingSpeakWrite.
