Stop a calculation

How do I best stop a calculation, it says that Matlab is busy and it won't even shut down when I hit close.
is there a good way of geeting Matlab to stop whatever it is doing?
Any help would be appreciated

About the only thing you can do in general is hold down the control key and the c key at the same time. If MATLAB is really involved in some built-in function, it may take a few moments to see your ctrl+c, but it should see it eventually. If not, it is to the Task Manager you go...
