I am trying to create one figure which consists of individual calcium traces of neurons.Also, I am new to matlab.

Look into stackedplot, or tiledlayout.

If you're dealing with many traces that have some kind of structure over time, you could try a waterfall plot. Another way to deal with many traces is to normalize their amplitudes to the tallest amp and plot them all on the same axes with a vertical offset.
