malloc-memory corruption on ubuntu

I'm running a very famous matlab source code on my ubuntu system. It gives me:

* glibc detected * /usr/local/MATLAB/R2013a/bin/glnxa64/MATLAB: malloc(): memory corruption: 0x00007f04162c0930 *

I have to say I only assign 17G to the ubuntu system. I don't know is this the reason for causing this kind of problem.
