Over more than 22 years, from early 2000 until retirement in 2022, Rob worked as a software developer at MathWorks. Rob contributed to numerous features in Mapping Toolbox, Image Processing Toolbox, and MATLAB Graphics/Mapping in areas including geometric geodesy, map projections and displays, graphical display of geospatial data, spatial referencing and data representations, and geometric image transformations and warping. Rob holds a B.A. in Physics from Williams College and a Ph.D. in Geophysics from MIT. His earlier work includes research and teaching in seismology and planetary science and R&D in geodesy, geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing, and digital aerial imaging/photogrammetry.
