Description

The Ned robots family is designed to reproduce all the movements required in the most advanced uses in industry 4.0, with a precision and repeatability of 0.5 mm. Ned’s aluminum structure makes it highly robust, allowing fluid movements for your robotics projects. This cobot takes advantage of the capacities of the Raspberry Pi® 4, with a 64-bit ARM® V8 high-performance processor, 2 GB of RAM, and improved connectivity.

Ned 2 is a collaborative robot based on Ubuntu® 20.04 and ROS (Robot Operating System) Noetic, an open-source solution created for robotics. Through ROS, Ned has multiple libraries, allowing a wide range of programming complexity.

Software for the Ned family includes the following:

  • Niryo Studio 2: Blockly programming, IDE for Python with library, multiple connectivity, auto update, 3D visualization with Unity®, intuitive interface, accessories monitoring, and much more
  • PyNiryo: Python API that lets you control the robot easily from any code editor
  • ROS connectivity via ROS Noetic
  • Software integrations: MATLAB® and RoboDK for the development of digital twins, 2D vision, and 3D vision to program, simulate, and test robotic applications.

Niryo supports connecting to MATLAB through the ROS Toolbox from MathWorks®. The steps for users to setup and control Ned-based robots from MATLAB are provided in Niryo’s documentation.
