Overview
In this series designed specifically for GNC engineers, we will explore tools and workflows that help streamline guidance, navigation, and control algorithm development.
In this session, we will focus on utilities for developing control algorithms, as well as integrating these algorithms back into a larger GNC simulation for closed-loop simulation-based testing.
Highlights
- Automated controller tuning, with examples ranging from PID and gain-scheduled controllers to more complex multi-input multi-output (MIMO) architectures
- Trimming and linearization of nonlinear systems
- Optimizing system response and performance against time domain and frequency domain design requirements
- Exploring built-in functionality for data-driven control methods
About the Presenter
Dallas Perkins received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Florida State University, focusing on energy conversion and control in electrical distribution systems. Prior to joining MathWorks in 2020, Dallas worked as a software controls engineer at General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems, where he developed hardware-in-the-loop experiments for electromechanical systems and their controllers.
