Clusterin--SOM Sample Hits (plotsomhits) interpretation

Hello there,

I am using the clustering GUI on Matlab's neural network, and I am trying to group my 98 samples of 4 iniputs into 2 classes. Currently, I am using a 2X2 self organizing map with four neurons. I am trying to interpret the SOM Sample Hits plot, as it has grouped my inputs into 4 different classes, but I don't know what the classes mean. Also, I wanted to know if there's a way to group the data into only 2 classes. Thanks so much.

You have to do an hierarchical classification (function: cluster) and specify the number of classes you want to have.
