Why do I get license manager errors with a borrowed license after disabling my network card?

When I disable my network card after borrowing a license, I get a license manager error saying that I cannot connect to the network license manager. If I turn the NIC card back on, I am able to use a license with no problems.

This error is expected if the network card is disabled or removed from the system. When the license borrowing is initiated, it becomes nodelocked to the network MAC address. If that address is not visible to the system the borrowed licenses will not work. The only way to resolve this issue is to re-enable the network card on the machine.
