未指定の場合はデフォルトの生成多項式が使用されます。またユーザが指定することもできます。この場合、RS符号に関しては、復号時には指定できませんので注意が必要です。
デフォルトの生成多項式は、以下の関数で確認できます。
cyclpoly ：巡回符号
bchpoly ：BCH符号
rspoly ：RS符号
