Trouble importing large .txt file

Hi, I have a 700 MB text file with strings and numbers. I am using the gui - import data. It takes a couple secs (blue/white bar) but then opens it in preview (nicely ordered). When I hit import, it displays a small window - Scanning data but it never moves.. and never imports..
Any alternatives?

Hi, I tried this but it only pulls the first line? Am I missing something? Also, what is "stream" file?
Here is one line from file..
"abcd_1" 54 0 0 215.00 584.70 382.10 . . . . . 22 1955606
