eig function not working properly

I use the eig function on a 16x16 matrix and it only returns a vector with 9 entries(eigenvalues). how can I get it to return all the eigen values?

EIG is based on very well tested LAPACK functions. If wrong results are replied, most likely the built-in function is shadowed by a user-defined function or variable. Please use the debugger to go line by line through your caller of EIG. And test EIG in the command window.
