image segmentation

hey. am very new to this area of image segmentation. I would like to know the best technique in image segmentation?? help me out

Well it kinda depends on your image. It's a lot easier to segment some things than others. There is no "best" technique. If you want actual guidance show us an image.

And this question isn't related to MATLAB.

i dont have image in particular.am doing a project in which the task is to find a good segmentation technique and create a code for it in matlab

Well there are thousands of well defined and documented image segmentation techniques, and probably millions of other ones. Good luck - no image, no good choice, no hope for a passing grade.
