Datatip in GUI unresponsive when switching between figures

Hi, I've been having some trouble with manipulating datatips in the plot GUI. I have to switch back and forth between two figures, moving a datatip from each one. I then deselect the data cursor tool and draw a rectangle on one of the figures. When I switch back to the first figure, the datatip is still there but I can't click and drag to move it. This happens whether or not the data cursor tool is selected. Even the create new datatip option does nothing, if I click on the figure no new tip is created. If I close and reopen the figure, I still can't create a new datatip. Is there some way to reset the datatips so I can start from scratch?
