Matrix visualization as an image

To know my data better i wanted to visualize my data matrix as an image. I used imagesc to do that.

code: imagesc(dataStruct.data)

But most of the image was in the same blue shade. Can someone suggest me a way to make this visualization better. With more accurate colors for the values. I am attaching the plot i got here. Thank You

Try applying some kind of a colormap

colormap(jet(256));
colormap(gray(256));
colormap(autumn(256));
colormap(lines(256));
