How to plot scatter graph in matlab?

I have need to make a system model with below specifications:

Area: 50x50(km) X & Y axis: random 20000 coordinates (locations) in 50x50 areas Z: it's a function of x & y coordinates. I need to plot values of z in x & y coordinates, which is measured in dB. I also need to differentiate values with different colour codes.

Any input from anyone will be much appreciated.

The function you are looking for is scatter3. help scatter3 for details and example. The other function might be mesh(),surf() as long as you have X,Y and Z data.
