CALLING STATA FORM MATLAB

HI, I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHETHER IS POSSIBLE TO CALL A STATA ROUTINE FROM MATLAB. MEANING, I AM RUNNING A CODE THAT REQUIRES AN INTERMEDIATE STEP IN STATA. IS THAT POSSIBLE?

What is in STATA that you can't do in Matlab?
I don't know STATA much, but isn't it drivable as a command-line app if you dispatch it with system?
