I have a MuPad notebook which contains some expressions. If I use the 'getVar' method in MATLAB to get a MuPad expression 'x' into MATLAB, why is the expression not returned in the output? I only receive a sym object with the name of the expression that I am trying to export from MuPad.
>> v = getVar(notebookName,'x');
v =
x

The expression is not sent back to MATLAB because the MuPad notebook has not been evaluated after it was opened. Please evaluate the expressions that you are trying to export within MuPad and then use the getVar method to bring the expression into the MATLAB workspace.
