How can I decompose a signal into subband signals?

I need to decompose a signal into 4 or 8 sub-band signals. I have tried 1D DWT . But DWT always breaks the low frequency components(or coefficients) and keeps the high frequency coefficients (i.e., the details). But I want to decompose it from both sides.

I have also tried " dsp.SubbandAnalysisFilter " & " step " function. But this makes the output signal half in length (down sample by 2).

So how can I get the subband signals which have the same length as input signal and have 0.25*frequency of the original signal?
